Equistro Equiliser

When horses with reduced reserves of certain nutrients are subjected to considerable physical strain and due to increased nutrient expenditure and sweating experience high losses, the resulting deficits may lead to behavioural and functional disturbances. The animals show "stressed" reactions, are restless, highly nervous, perform poorly and less willingly. The vitamins B1 and B2 and niacin play a role in supporting the nervous system in times of increased stress, along with the "anti-stress" mineral magnesium. In certain cases, a sufficient supply of L-tryptophane can also help alleviate the behavioural disturbance caused by the deficiency situation.

Vitamin B1 as an antineuritic vitamin is important for normal nerve tissue and heart muscle function. Especially with high-energy nutritional regimes, the supply required should be ensured by supplementation. A 500 kg horse requires 25-60 mg of vitamin B1 every day, depending on stress load!

Vitamin B6 plays a key role as a coenzyme in protein metabolism. Vitamin B6 deficiency causes, among other metabolic disturbances, alterations in the central and peripheral nervous system.

Recommended for horses in doses between 20 and 50 mg per day for basic supply, but as in the case of B1, an increased protein and energy content in the feed requires a corresponding adjustment of the vitamin dose.

Niacin (nicotinic acid, nicotamide) plays an important role in the metabolism of each cell. The daily requirement in horses, depending on age and performance level, is between 10 and 25 mg niacin / 100 kg of body weight.

Magnesium is known as an important neural protection factor, and if in sufficient supply, will prevent the release of stress hormones in the body. Under extreme performance pressure and consequently increased magnesium requirement, the reserves are quickly released and also immediately used up.
Increased requirements must be met with rapidly bio-available magnesium, or the stress situation will exacerbate, with neuromuscular symptoms as signs of a magnesium deficiency.

L-tryptophane

(Indolalanine) Tryptophane is an essential, aromatic amino acid required for the synthesis of niacin (see above) from time to time. Niacin serves as a pre-stage for various coenzymes. 60 mg of tryptophane are used to produce 1 mg of niacin.

Another tryptophane breakdown process results in the production of the biogenic amine serotonine. Serotonine acts as a so-called neurotransmitter in the transmission of stimuli at the synapses of the CNS and peripheral nerves. Depending on the amount released in response to stimuli, serotonin increases or reduces the circulation and metabolism in the lungs, kidneys and skeletal muscles and controls the stimulus conduction to the heart and the smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract, bronchi and uterus. In humans, serotonin controls appetite, sexual and aggression-related behaviour, mood and sleep-wake rhythm.

EQUISTRO EQUILISER contains the above-mentioned nutrients, selected, in a completely utilisable form (L-tryptophane) and with an optimum in bio-availability (magnesium salt of organic fumaric acid)
